They say a daughter is life's greatest gift and I believe that's true. Everything I do is for my daughters. We've come so far, and they've taught me more in the last 16 months than you could ever imagine. When my beautiful Twincesses entered this world at only 28 weeks gestation, I feared the worse. The excitement of bringing 2 new baby girls into this world was now the last thing on my mind. I felt as if my body failed me and my babies. I hated myself for putting them through such a traumatic ordeal. I sat next to them everyday and watch them fight for their lives through a clear box! I felt defeated. There was nothing I could do, but PRAY! And I did just that. I talked to my babies, and watched their heart rates rise as my voice echoed through this clear box into their tiny ears. I promised them that if they didn't stop fighting, neither would I! I promised to give them the best life I could, to teach them to just simply be good hearted people. On day 3 of this crazy journey, BabyB (Trinity), suffered an intestinal perforation. The doctors removed all her tubes, let us take pictures of her and have a moment to just talk to her. They were preparing us, "just in case" the surgery didn't go well. How could you ever be prepared for something like that? You can't! I told her to fight! And she did. She didn't give up... she was 2lbs and probably the strongest person I'd ever meet. BabyA (Brielle) suffered from a grade 3 brain bleed during birth. The doctors told me there was nothing they can do, except wait. HOW? I wanted them to do everything they could to fix her, but they couldn't! So I prayed! I told my baby that she was perfect no matter what. And she is! Brielle also suffers from an enlarged heart due to an ASD (a hole in one of the chambers). As a parent, you never want your kids to have a broken heart, but mine was born with one. Through all these things, we are better than ever! We are truly BLESSED! None of these things will define us. We have made it through the storm and God has proven numerous times to be on our side. Twincess Treats was founded in honor of these 2 warriors I call my daughters! Our business is the start of our life together and will continue to flourish right along side Brielle & Trinity!
